In short, a DTP artist is responsible for what you see when you open a book, magazine or newspaper. Whether it be Digital or Print, the concept is the same (with different protocols for colour, resolution & ultimate rendering). Before any of the print copies go to the press, usually 'playouts' are presented to the Editor who signs off with the client & makes sure the publication is perfect. Its a specialised trade.
